The SmartBusiness initiative assists businesses introduce new e–technologies across Wiltshire and rural parts of Swindon Borough.

- Subsidised training seminars
This support can be accessed in three ways:
1. SmartSMEs
Free and impartial support to businesses employing up to 250 employees subject to eligibility:
- Free impartial advice and support
- Free business advice sessions
- Free workshops on website marketing and website security
- Grant fund for adopting new e–technologies

2. SmartPurchasing
Local authorities across Wiltshire are looking to introduce new electronic purchasing systems.
A series of events will be held across Wiltshire to showcase these new systems. These events will be targeted at existing, or potential, suppliers to the public sector.

3. SmartTourism
Learn about Wiltshire Tourism's new Destination Management System. A series of subsidised training seminars for accommodation providers with a 3–5 star or 3–5 diamond rating will take place from the Autumn of 2007:
- Beginner sessions
- Advanced Sessions
- Drop–in sessions at Tourist Information Centres

The SmartBusiness initiative has been awarded Rural Renaissance funding by the South West of England Regional Development Agency through the Wiltshire and Swindon Rural Regeneration Partnership.
Partner organisations involved in the delivery of this initiative are Business Link, Great Western Enterprise Ltd, the South West of England Regional Development Agency, Wessex Association Chambers of Commerce and Wiltshire County Council. This is a Wiltshire Community First Partnership project.
